Featured at Performance Art USA: Impromptus Festival in Brooklyn, New York, curated by Hector Canonge.
I stood still on a 1 x 1 foot taped white square and hung my own created visual acuity chart in which I employed my daughter’s hair. 10 feet away, I also pasted a printed instruction on the ground and added another white square with the same dimension as mine. Passersby/spectators who desired to participate were instructed how to take the eye test through the taped instruction.
TAKE A TEST IF YOU WISH COVER ONE EYE AT A TIME WITH THE PALM OF YOUR HAND DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO THE COVERED EYE, AS IT MIGHT AFFECT THAT EYE’S VISION FEEL SAFE READ EACH LINE YOU CAN SEE ON THE CHART, INDEPENDENTLY
Among the minor line of letters on the chart is a sentence that can barely be read from a distance of 10 feet which says: “WOMAN LIFE FREEDOM”
After the festival, I walked throughout NYC carrying the chart for a few hours.
